Book Discussion Series: People and Ideas that Shape Church Music
Mondays in February @ 1:30pm-2:30pm CT (Feb. 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd)
Church Music and the Christian Faith by Erik Routley
Erik Routley was a tall figure in the field of worship and music in the 20th century, inspiring clergy and musicians alike to ask the questions necessary to meaningful congregational worship. Are his ideas still relevant? Are the questions he posed those we should be asking as 21st century worship leaders in a pandemic? Join us for an online book study of Erik Routley’s Church Music and the Christian Faith (buy book here from Hope Publishing), led by Chris Brunt, former Routley student and Dean of the Dallas AGO, Rev. Tim Morrison, Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, TX, and Conner McMains, Director of Music at St. Monica Catholic Church in Dallas.
Registration closes at 12:00 noon (CT) on Sunday, January 31st. $20 for CMI members. $40 for non-members.
Not a member? Sign up today! ACDA and AGO members enjoy discounts on membership. Click HERE to see all that a CMI membership can do for you, and to register today.
Can't attend the first session? No problem. Go ahead and register by January 31 (or contact CMI to be added between February 1-7), and feel free to join us on the second session of the series on February 8. We'll send you the link.
Preferably, you will have completed reading the book beforehand -- but if you're just getting started, don't let that hold you back from joining us! We look forward to a lively, interactive discussion, so feel free to come with your own questions or thoughts about Erik Routley or his book.
