“Music in Christian Worship” Course

June 13 @ 9:00 am – June 24 @ 12:00 pm CDT

A foundational course for clergy and musicians about the church’s music, covering theological underpinnings in various traditions, various worship streams and how music relates to them, congregational song, choral song, music leadership, language, and staff relationships. Attendees will gain a theology of music and denominational perspectives to use in planning worship. Can be taken for three hours graduate credit or for audit.

Celebrating the Life of Susan Palo Cherwien

CMI celebrates the life of Susan Palo Cherwien, musician, poet, hymnwriter, and mourns her loss with her husband, David Cherwien, and their family.  A December 31 service that both celebrates her life and is a tribute to the worship she nurtured can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZDkzI9vtFw.  Her obituary is at https://www.startribune.com/obituaries/detail/0000412530/.
