Each year, CMI hosts workshops across the country and online led by clergy and musicians. The typical workshop has 100+ attendees, a mix of clergy, musicians and laypersons with topics ranging from current research in worship and music to planning Sunday worship to choral techniques and organ repertoire for liturgical use.
CMI Festivals of Music are showcase events featured in various cities. A celebration of music of the Christian faith, multiple choirs gather to perform under the direction of well-known guest conductors and composers. Recent Festivals of Music were held in Charlotte, NC, Darien, CT and Dallas, TX. Dallas festivals have included 450-voice choirs, brass, and the Lay Family organ in the magnificent Meyerson Symphony Center. Led by renowned conductors such as Bob Chilcott and Eric Nelson, choirs from churches in North and East Texas joined with voices in the congregation in the singing of hymns that continue to inspire generations of Christians.
In conjunction with selected workshops, CMI hosts opportunities for volunteer choral singers to expand their skills and repertoire. Open to all choral directors and singers, Choral Sings are inspiring repertoire sessions that cover all liturgical seasons in the church year.
